How far can Bubbles go?

     Riding a bus on our way to Ifugao once again is not to see the famous Banaue Rice Terraces, but this time to see the Batad and Nagacadan Rice Terraces, both listed as UNESCO World Heritage Site.  Batad Rice Terraces      Not knowing the difficulty of the hike can be of advantage somehow, because it gives you the courage to go on.  Well, the guide told us that it was 2.5 hours going down and another 2 hours to the falls.  And he said in a humorous way that after this trip we will curse Batad for the experience it gave us.  Oh yes, at first it was easy to go down which I can manage to walk for hours until we reached the restaurant with the magnificent view of Batad Rice Terraces.       After feeding ourselves with nutrition, we started our hike again, this time to the Tappiya Falls .  We traversed through the rice paddies of Batad and once we got to the middle, we were amazed with the stunnin...

Banaue Rice Terraces (First View Point)         After 9 hours of travel, we arrived in Banaue, Ifugao at 7:30AM.  Still tired and hungry from a very long trip, we rest for a while at Green View Lodge and had our breakfast.      Green View Lodge is a meeting point for backpackers.  The restaurant was packed with backpackers from all over the world.  We even shared a table with Delfina, a French lady who works at Puerto Princesa, Palawan.  Since, my officemate is very friendly and has a sense of humor; she never failed to amuse Delfina.      After a satisfying meal at Green View, we rented a private vehicle to take us to Banaue Rice Terraces Viewpoint, Bay-yo Rice Terraces, and Sagada.  A group of foreign backpackers from Germany, New Zealand, U.S.A, and Australia joined us.      First stop at Banaue Rice Terraces, my second visit to this place, it still amazed me to see the beauti...

     My summer get-away for 2010 is quite different.  Why I said so?  Normally I go to beautiful beaches in the country to feel the summer heat of the sun.  This time we explored the Cordillera.      From Baguio to Sagada, we passed the paved and non-paved roads and a never ending curved roads.  Though it took us 4 hours to reach Sagada, the trip was still worthwhile as we traversed the top of Cordillera’s spectacular range of mountains, some mini rice terraces, a river beside a rice farm, and surely a different sight to please your eyes.
