Unique Experience at Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar
Travel Dates: February 24-25, 2013
This large property of Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar in
Bagac, Bataan is distinct in design and location. Mr. Acuzar with his passion for old Spanish houses
brought the old houses from the different part of the Philippines, restored it
and put all together in one place to form a village. It’s like you stepped back in time as you look
at the old Spanish mansions around you transformed to its old glory.
Our one night accommodation was a birthday present from my boyfriend. I enjoyed every minute of our stay here with very
romantic scenery of old Spanish houses, brown sand beach, lovely pool to swim, vast
rice farm, river that flows under the arch stone bridge to the sea, and majestic
mountain in sight.
Each of the heritage houses, with 2-6 bedrooms, is available
for rent.
Currently the hotel rate is ranging form Php 10,800 to Php 19,000 a night.
But that includes breakfast, use of swimming
pool and beach area, coffee and tea making facilities, guide map and walking
heritage tour.
Luckily, we were given a chance to sleep in one of the heritage
houses. It has a queen size white bed, big
comfort room, antique furniture, big capiz windows, and white curtains. I felt like a princess here, enjoying the
comfort we can get.
Since we arrived on the night of weekend, we experienced the
Awitan, Harana at Sayawan sa Las Casas. We
were serenaded by classic Kundiman and entertained by their dancers with Tinikling
and other folk dances.
During the day, we went
for a guided tour around the resort. The
tour guide imparted us the history of each house. Some have beautiful and happy stories to tell,
while the others have tragic history. One
of my favorite is the Casa Biñan, a replica of Doña Teodora
Alonza Y Quintos’ ancestral house.
There are two restaurants though a bit pricey, will fortify
your stomach. They serve Italian and
Filipino-Spanish cuisine. The food is tasty
in generous servings and the ambiance is welcoming.
During the time of our trip, they are still expanding and building some
additional houses fronting the beach, and a church. Now, it looks like everything has been finished already. Something to look forward and a reason to
return in this beautiful resort one day.
